Compliant lifting, without the guesswork.
Afrishore Lifting & Rigging was established in 2015 as part of the Afrishore group of companies – an affiliate of Afrishore Pty Ltd, headquartered alongside the group at 60 Bland Street, Mossel Bay.
We leverage over 30 years of industry knowledge in compliant lifting and rigging equipment and services. Our focus is simple: find practical and cost-effective solutions that match what your operation actually needs – supplied, tested and certified.
From steel wire rope and slings to load testing and PPE, we support operations across multiple industries with one accountable point of contact.

What we do
The business runs three connected service lines from the Mossel Bay hub. Lifting Products covers the everyday supply: steel wire rope cut to length, wire rope and chain slings made up in the workshop, shackles and rigging hardware drawn from racked stock, lashing equipment and fibre rope for marine and load-restraint applications. Testing & Servicing is the compliance arm – annual proof load testing, six-monthly visual inspection of lifting tackle, re-certification, repair and preventative maintenance, offered on-site or in the workshop. PPE is the third line – general site PPE, height safety equipment, full fall-arrest systems and the safety lines that keep working-at-height teams compliant.
Most jobs cross the line between two or three of these. A new sling set ships from the hub with a current proof test certificate; a load-test crew arrives on-site with replacement tackle in the truck; a PPE order for a climbing crew includes the inspection schedule for the harnesses. Running supply, certification and PPE under one roof is the only way that loop closes inside one quote.
How we work
Quotes start with the spec. Send the load, geometry, sector and timeline (see the contact page for the full enquiry checklist); we come back with a price, lead time and the relevant certification regime against the standards that apply – SANS 10307 for safe use of lifting equipment, ISO 4309 for wire rope inspection, EN 13414 for steel wire rope slings, EN 818 for short-link chain, the LEEA Code of Practice as the umbrella for accredited members. Tests carried out at the hub or on-site come back with the load certificate, the inspection record and the load tag fitted to the asset.
Credentials & standards
Afrishore is a full member of LEEASA (Lifting Equipment Engineering Association of South Africa), works to SANS-approved standards, and supplies tackle with Safe Working Load (SWL) load-rated tags on every assembly. The standards we work to in day-to-day operations include SANS 10307, ISO 4309, ISO 9001, SANS 1080 for industrial safety harnesses, the LEEA Code of Practice, and the South African Driven Machinery Regulations under the OHS Act. The full credential set and the standards vocabulary are emitted on the structured-data layer of every page so search engines and AI answer engines have unambiguous proof of the compliance posture.
Where we operate
The 60 Bland Street hub covers a ~150 km radius for on-site service – Mossel Bay, George, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Oudtshoorn and the smaller Garden Route towns in between are inside the standard delivery and on-site test-crew footprint. Beyond that radius, supply orders ship across South Africa as standard and on-site project work (Eastern Cape, Northern Cape oil & gas operations, specialised marine work elsewhere on the coast) is quoted on a job-by-job basis. The Afrishore group's wider maritime-logistics affiliate (afrishore.co) extends the group's reach further into the Mossel Bay harbour and coastal-operations ecosystem.
