Trawl warps, ropes and marine hardware
Trawl warps, mooring and anchor ropes, marine hardware and offshore safety products kept in stock for the fishing and marine sector.
Trawl warps and marine wire rope from the local harbour
Mossel Bay's fishing fleet – trawlers, longliners, the inshore line-fish boats – runs on heavy combination wire and steel rope warps that get a brutal duty cycle. 6×19 and 6×24 trawl warp constructions are stocked in the wire diameters the local skippers actually use; combination wire (galvanised steel core with synthetic fibre cover) for the warps that need slip-through on the winch drum without the steel-on-steel chatter. Cut to the metre in the workshop, supplied with the eye terminations or sockets the vessel's gear demands, and tested where the operation requires a load certificate before the trip.
Mooring, anchor rope and the hardware that holds it
Mooring and anchor lines are the second pillar: polysteel and three-strand polypropylene for working warps, eight-plait nylon for the dynamic-load mooring runs that absorb wave action against the quay, plus the marine hardware – galvanised shackles for the working gear, stainless where corrosion would otherwise eat through a season's worth of fittings, thimbles and ferrules sized to match the rope diameter, mooring eye terminations made up to the vessel's specification. Mossel Bay harbour is a five-minute drive from the 60 Bland Street hub, so urgent replacements get on a vessel inside the hour during business hours.
Offshore safety and on-vessel fall arrest
Working at height on a vessel – climbing the mast for radar work, accessing a fish hold from above, transferring between vessels at the quay – falls under the same fall-arrest and height-safety regime as any other industrial workspace. Stocked safety harnesses, lanyards, energy absorbers and the marine-grade carabiners that don't seize after a salt-spray season are kept on the rack alongside the rigging gear. PPE and rigging stocked under one roof means a vessel re-fit is one quote and one collection, not two suppliers and two delivery slots.
