Height-safety PPE under SANS 1080 & the OHS Act
Working at height in South Africa falls under the Construction Regulations and General Safety Regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, with industrial safety harnesses sold against SANS 1080. The height-safety range stocked at the Mossel Bay hub – full-body harnesses with dorsal D-rings, twin-leg shock-absorbing lanyards, vertical / horizontal / temporary safety lines, fall arresters and descenders – is kept to the specification competent persons actually inspect against.
